The Hofskirkja is one of the few remaining grass covered churches in Iceland. Originally designed to retain heat these churches fell out of fashion with the invention of electricity. However a few still remain sprinkled throughout Iceland! While adorable, these churches tend to have an issue with the local sheep who keep eating the roof!
